In partnership with Cambridge Live Trust, Cambridgeshire Music will instigate research into new, young audiences and musicians for folk music, song and dance. This contract is for research and development to inform a further grant application to support a folk initiative over 3 years.

Research project and pilot activity. May 2017 – October 2017
Engaging with all aspects of Cambridge Folk Festival and young people in a range of educational settings, the researcher will discover what young people understand, identify with and want from folk music, and how to facilitate their engagement journey.

It is expected that the researcher will plan, deliver in partnership with Cambridgeshire Music, and evaluate a pilot project, inspired by the 2017 Cambridge Folk Festival in order to test initial conclusions.
